Crazy as Crazy Does

So I mentioned in my previous post in my other blog that my sister needs a new outlet for her
frustrations and that I bury myself with work and I'm the boring one.

Apparently, I am wrong. I think I'm the crazy one.

I took a long look at the top shelf of our closet and discovered to my
horror the increasingly mounding pouches containing beauty products.

Although I would have to declare now that I did get some of those stuff as
freebies (from other stuff I bought. Ngahaha!). I have to say, these
companies are generous with samples!

There's a pouch containing Caudalie samples for when I bought my Clarisonic
at Nordstrom c/o Jay and samples from Dr. Robert Rey's (Beverly Hills
Cosmetic Surgeon to the stars) line called Sensual Solutions also from
because of my Clarisonic. It also contains a sleeping pack from Etude House
that I got when my sister visited South Korea, plus The Face Shop masks I
got as a gift that I will not use because I'm scared it might make my skin

And then there's a pouch that contains Clinique make up products courtesy of
my grandmother who loves the stuff. The pouch contains an eye shadow and
blush palette, 2 mascaras (1 opened already), cleansing mousse, and a
lipstick. In this pouch also hides a container of Clinique loose powder and
Clinique foundation powder compact I got from my Aunt as a balikbayan gift a
few days ago. And of course my smashbox brush cleaner.

Another pouch contains samples from Clinique again (Boy do we love that
brand in our family). But this time around, those are the free stuff I got
because I bought the Anti-Blemish line of Clinique. That pouch contains
about 4 sample bottles of the anti blemish toner, 3 sample tubes of the anti
blemish moisturizer, 1 sample pot of the all about eyes cream, 1 sample tube
of lip gloss, and 2 sample tubes of cleanser for oily skin. These I will use
for when I travel where liquids are limited to 100ml or under.

On another pouch contains the Anti-Blemish line I actually bought. There's
the big bottle of the Anti Blemish toner, a big tube of the anti blemish
moisturizer, a tube of anti blemish concealer, and a post blemish pen. I
also stashed there my Kiehl's Abyssine Eye cream I got as a gift. This Anti
Blemish line I swear minimizes the occurrence of cystic acne that suddenly
graced my once clear facial skin. Boohoo! I now only have smaller ones. I'm
hoping it'll disappear soon enough!

And then, I have a travel sized pouch containing travel sizes of Clinique's
3-step system for Oily Combination skin which contains a cleanser, toner,
and their famous dramatically different moisturizer. I plan to use these
when my blemishes have disappeared. I bought this first then changed my mind
when I needed a big remedy to cure them cystic pests.

And then the final two pouches that made me realize my crazy ways. The
sample Shu Uemura pouch and the pouch containing what I invested in.

My investment pouch contains Shu's Face architect foundation (I know, I
rarely wore make up before but given that I have to hide them pesky pimples,
I turned over a new leaf), their UV primer in mousse form, their eye liner,
and their # 18 Goat Hair Foundation brush which is the most expensive make
up brush I have ever bought in my entire life! Jeez!

And finally, after investing and breaking my budget for my first Shu make up
purchase that eventually skyrocketed me to Shu VIP status, I got a sample
pouch containing their White Recover Ex line. This includes their cleansing
lotion, whitening cream, whitening serum, whitening essence. Being instant
VIP has it's perks I have to say.

And to think, if I hadn't given my Mac Studio Fix powder foundation to my
sister because I bought the wrong shade which does not hide my pimples, or
those Korean beauty products I got as a gift from my sister to our house
assistant because they did not match my skin type, I would have had another
two pouches with me.

Good God!

I better give away those samples that I won't be using like those Sensual
Solutions stuff (Instant wrinkle filler/ lip plumper samples anyone?) or the
Etude House Sleeping pack (Laniege's sleeping pack is way better). And toss
out those that will no longer be usable, like one of the mascaras given to
me now smell metallic (once mascara smells metallic...toss em!). I have to
check the expiration date of the facial masks of The Face Shop as well
because if it's still ok, our house assistant will have another loot from

For a gal who once prided herself in avoiding make up and have a simple
beauty routine and once a month facial, I've gone bonkers.

I hope to God I'll go back to the powder and lip balm phase I used to have.
I miss my old facial skin. I hate these hormones!
